Braiden's 1st Birthday party!!

Braiden turned 1 on Saturday March 6th, 2010. For the past couple months, I was thinking Braiden's first birthday was fast approaching, I wanted to plan a special party to celebrate his birthday. I had no idea what the theme would be, where would the party take place, how would the weather be (since you can't never know in Colorado) but, everything started with an idea. I was talking to Alexandra and Amanda Leon to get their opinion about the party, they suggested that the party's theme be Yo Gabba Gabba since Braiden loves watching the show (the suggestion sounded great to me but, I had no clue who Yo Gabba Gabba was so, I started to goggle the show and met the characters).
Since that moment, they volunteered to help with anything they could do for me. Once I had the party's theme, I needed to decide where to have the party, Julio recommended to have the party at the Church's building so, I called to reserve it and the building was available so, then I knew for sure the party's location. Once I had the theme and the location, I made and sent out the invitations and thought that the rest will be the easiest. Of course, being busy with the daily routine (Braiden, work, the house chores, etc), I actually started making everything the week before the party.
This special celebration ended up being a combined effort/team work, Alexandra & Claudia made the cake (Alexandra was definitively prepared with the cake's design way in advance), Danielle assisted in making the t-shirts, Monica (my friend and manager picked up the piñata) and Julio helped me making the candy bags, center pieces, the set up and picking up the food. Alexandra and Amanda did a great with the set up and decoration of tables and building, and putting together the party hats and blowouts. Amanda also took the time to put together the music CD. The photographer Steve Allen (capturing the special moments and memories), Jill Moyer (cutting the cake and making sure everybody would get a piece) Thanks to all who participated and attended, Braiden's 1st birthday party was a success, everything worked out the way I wanted it.

Yay, Braiden was able to reach, good job baby!

Oh wow, totally impressed..

We realized that Braiden is getting big, that it is probably time for us to start doing more fun activities with him that will allow us to spend more time together as a family, therefore, on Saturday January 30th, we took him to the Children's Museum for the very first time, we all had a blast and noticed how much he enjoyed being around new people and exploring new places. We just wished it would have been on a week day because there was a lot of people so, hopefully soon we are able to plan a second visit to the museum during a week day.

The Beginning

For the past few months, I have been reading our friend's blogs and wanted to create our own but, for one reason or another, procrastination, no time, no idea of how to create one and not putting the time and effort to read instructions I never did until now, I'm really excited to keep up with the blog to share our lives with family and friends.

Remember, I'm new at this so be patient, I'm not good at it and will not be super creative but, it's work in progress..

Visiting Colorado

My dad came to see us, it was his first time visiting Colorado. I tried to take off us much time as possible from work to be with him, we did as much as we could and we visited as many places as possible. He was here 10 days, his visit ended suddendly as he was notified his brother was very sick so he had to leave. It was very exciting to have him here but by the end of his visit I was exhausted, I was pregnant, we were always on the go and to make things worst, Curly did not stop barking the whole time he was here. We will be waiting for him to come see us again and enjoy his grandson.

He was very impressed that it was August and
there was a lot of snow on the mountains.

Not that I love Casa Bonita's food but I do believe is a must go
when you have friends or family visiting Colorado.

Having so much fun..
